Just came back from field sampling for ecology and brought back along with me are more photos of wild orchids!!! Today we found another 2 different species of wild orchids happy blooming all over the place. By the way, all photos taken using Sony cybershot T10.
I also found out the names for the previous orchid specie. It's called Diuris longifolia R.Br. aka Common Donkey Orchid. Quite a odd name for a pretty orchid. Flowering period July - October
More from today's trip.

Caladenia flava R.Br. aka Cowslip orchid
Flowering period August - October

and lastly, the most spectacular of all, Calandenia huegelii (R.Br.) Reichb aka Rusty spider orchid. These are rarer than the above and only a small cluster is found in the place I was working on.

below are the other plants in the area. The yellow flower is considered a weed in Perth, surprisingly. But it sure brings smiles with it's happy bloom. The last one is a carnivorous plant.

okie! that's all the photos I've got for today!
